Natalie Haynes: DIVINE MIGHT

Natalie Haynes is a writer, broadcaster, and – according to The Washington Post – a "rock-star mythologist." She is the author of The Ancient Guide to Modern Life, The Amber Fury, The Children of Jocasta, Stone Blind, and A Thousand Ships, which was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 2020 and has been translated into multiple languages. Her non-fiction book about women in Greek Myth, Pandora’s Jar, was a bestseller in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Haynes has spoken on the modern relevance of the classical world on three continents, from Cambridge to Chicago to Auckland, and in 2015, she was awarded the Classical Association Prize for her work in bringing classics to a wider audience. She writes for The Guardian and is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4 with her show, Natalie Haynes Stands Up for the Classics.

Natalie's most recent novel, Divine Might: Goddesses in Greek Myth, is a female-centered look at Olympus and the Furies, focusing on the goddesses whose prowess, passions, jealousies, and desires rival those of their male kin, including Athene, Aphrodite, Hera, Demeter, Artemis, the Muses, and Hestia.
